I’ve gone through life like most men do. Looking for a friend; Someone who will back me up until the bitter end.

One who knows I’ll sometimes fall. Yet lend a helping hand; One who knows, the truths I preach, I somehow soon will bend.

I’ve searched and searched year in and out to find the one to be; The kind of person good enough to give these things to me.

I’ve cried inside, I’ve felt the pain, alone with all within. To know that one would share this hurt, must surely be a friend.

At life’s midwalk I fell through what once was solid ground. I didn’t know this fall I took would turn my life around.

The one I sought walked up to me and took me by the hand. HE opened up my once closed eyes. HIS loving face was grand!

HE took me through the life I’d lived and made my blind eyes see.

The friend that I had searched for had always been with me.
